Leopard Booking Conditions

1. How to Book

Once you have accepted the quote, and we have received payment, your booking is confirmed and accepted by us. Making payment for the reservation constitutes consent by you (as signatory or payer) (“you”) to all our booking conditions. On receipt of your final payment we will send you the necessary vouchers, details in relation to international and/or domestic air travel, accommodation, transfers, safari information, personal itinerary, etc. Please ensure that you have received this information and carefully read it before you leave on your trip.

2. Payment

In order to confirm your travel arrangements, Leopard requires a 40% (forty percent) deposit on all services provided – the balance is due and payable 60 (sixty) days prior to travel. Payment in full must be received, net of bank charges. If any flights have been booked on your behalf through Leopard, be it domestic, regional or international flights, full pre-payment is required for these flights. Flights are non refundable. In cases where our service providers apply more stringent payment terms, Leopard reserves the right to require you to adhere to such additional terms.

3. Cancellation

Any request for a cancellation must be in writing. Money paid to hotels, lodges and other accommodation providers, as well as tour guides, will be refunded to you as per the service provider cancellation policy, less a 10% handing fee. If a booking is cancelled, for non Covid related reasons, 32 (thirty two) days or less prior to the trip departure date your full payment is forfeited. There are no refunds if you fail to join a trip or join it after departure or leave it prior to its completion. In cases where our service providers’ cancellation policies are more stringent than the above, Leopard reserves the right to require you to adhere to such additional cancellation charges. Refunds will be made in ZAR.

4. Passport & Visas

The onus is on you to ensure that passports and visas are valid for each of the countries you visit and that you comply with country specific requirements. We are not liable for obtaining any visas or for the cost associated with obtaining visas or any other travel permissions or documents. We are not responsible in any way for you being denied access to or exit from any country.

5. Health

It is your responsibility to ensure that you are physically fit and capable of travelling. Anti-malaria precautions may be necessary and should be commenced prior to your departure. Please consult your doctor well in advance of the trip for specific malaria and health precautions and advice. Some countries have requirements in regard to yellow fever vaccination prior to entry. Please ensure that you meet the necessary requirements before travelling.

6. Not Included

Our proposals and trip information contain details of items not included in the package. Please make sure that you are aware of the specific exclusions. In addition to any items specifically excluded in your reservation, the following items are excluded: cancellation/curtailment insurance, medical insurance, baggage and money insurance, medical evacuation, gratuities, any excursions not specifically included and personal expenses.

7. Responsibility

Neither Leopard nor any person or agent acting for, through or on behalf of Leopard is liable for any loss or damage whatsoever arising from any cause whatsoever in regard to the trip. In particular, we are not liable for loss or damage arising from any errors or omissions contained in our proposal or other material, or for loss or damage caused by delays, sickness, theft, injury or death. In the event of any trip or part thereof being rendered impossible, illegal or inadvisable for any reason beyond our control, we have the right at any time and without any liability or cost, to cancel such trip or the remainder thereof or to make any alteration en route. You will be responsible for any extra expenses incurred as a result of the alteration of any trip where such alternation was brought about due to circumstances beyond our control.

Please make sure your travel insurance covers you for any such eventuality. By making this booking you warrant that you have authority to enter into a contract on behalf of the other persons included in the booking (“guests”) and in the event of the failure of any or all of the guests to make any payment due to us, you assume personal liability for the total price of all bookings made and all cost incurred on the trip by the guests.

8. Air Travel

Leopard requires full prepayment for any flights booked on behalf of travelers. Prices of the flight tickets are subject to changes from the airline until they are booked and paid in full. Leopard requires all travelers’ information as it appears on their passport in order for airlines to issue tickets. Airlines do not accept any changes to flight tickets after issue. Leopard does not accept any responsibility for incorrect passport numbers or names or spelling thereof. Tickets issued by airlines/air charter companies contain conditions of the contact between the airline/charter and the passenger. Depending on the nature of the trip (safari by way of example) Leopard (or our agents) may contract certain flying services to independent charter operations that are responsible for flying and we are not responsible for the actions of the independent air charter operator. You must satisfy yourself in regard to the air charter operator’s terms and conditions of flying.

9. Insurance

It is the responsibility of you and your guests to ensure that you seek advice and purchase the correct comprehensive travel and medical insurance for the duration of your travel. This insurance should include cover in respect of cancellation or curtailment of the trip, emergency evacuation expenses, medical expenses, repatriation expenses, trip alternations in clause 7, damage/theft/loss of personal baggage, money and goods. We are not responsible for any costs, losses incurred, injury, or death howsoever occasioned during your travel. Guests will be charged directly by the relevant service providers for any emergency services they may require and may find themselves in a position where they are unable to access such services should they not be carrying the relevant insurance cover.

10. Wild Animals

Please be aware that if your trip includes a safari, it may take you into close contact with wild animals. The camps at which you will stay may not be fenced. Neither Leopard, nor its directors, employees, contractors, agents or any third party engaged by us are responsible for any injury or incident on any safari.

11. General

Leopard acts as a third-party booking agent for travel operators. We are not responsible or liable for their actions or omissions. You must satisfy yourself as to the terms and conditions of all operators providing services to you for the duration of your trip. We cannot be held liable for any delays or additional costs incurred as a result of your selected airlines not running to schedule.

We will do our utmost to keep to the prices quoted. Should increases be forced on us by accommodation availability, exchange rates, etc., we reserve the right to pass on such increases to you and your fare will be at the rates as at date of travel.

Correspondence between Leopard and yourself will contain personal information. You consent to Leopard processing your personal information. This includes collecting and storing your information, modifying and deleting as may be necessary or required and sharing with our third-party service providers. We will not use your personal information for any improper purpose and we will comply with all applicable South African laws in processing your personal information.

These terms and conditions are subject to South African law.
